We compare London hotels by location, practical access, verified property information, price context and nearby alternatives. We do not inspect hotels, we do not collect guest reviews, and we do not publish a score. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.
StayLogic: the five checks on every property page
- Destination fit. How the address sits against the place the page is about, as a straight-line distance from the property postcode.
- Walking reality. How many stations are close, and how close. We publish distances, never walking times.
- Transport fit. Which networks the nearest stations carry, because one interchange can undo a shorter distance.
- Area fit. The micro-location and postcode district, which describe the street better than the area name does.
- Value context. The observed rate against the median for that cluster, so the number means something.
There is no total score. A single number would imply the underlying data is complete and comparable across every property, and it is not. Labels and stated facts are less satisfying and more honest.
Distances: what we measure and what we refuse to
Every distance on this site is a straight line from the property postcode to a fixed coordinate for the venue, station or area. That calculation is reproducible: run it again on the same inputs and you get the same answer.
We do not convert those into walking times. A walking time depends on the pavement route, and in London the straight line frequently crosses a river, a rail corridor or a road you cannot cross. Publishing a time we have not measured would be the single most misleading thing on the page, so the site says about 500 yards in a straight line and stops there.
Property facts: the verification gate
Pools, spas, parking, pet policies, family rooms, star ratings and room counts are only published once we have checked them against the property or an established guide, and the source is recorded against that property. 175 of our 535 properties currently carry checked facts.
A blank is not a no. Where a fact is missing, we have not confirmed it. The property may well have the facility. We would rather leave a gap than turn an unknown into a claim in either direction.
Where two reputable sources disagree, for example on whether parking is on site or nearby, we publish neither and note that we could not settle it.
Prices
Every rate on this site is a single observed from-price for one property, taken in August 2026. It is not an average of what guests paid, and it is not a forecast. Rates are always shown with that date attached.
We also apply a plausibility floor. Any nightly rate below £30 is treated as a failed reading rather than a real price, because in the source export that value appeared against several of London's most expensive hotels. Publishing it would have placed them in a budget band. 500 of our 535 properties currently carry a credible observed rate.
What keeps a page out of the index
A property page is only indexable once it carries at least three of these: a place in one of our location hubs, a credible observed rate, checked property facts, two or more stations within a kilometre, and two or more comparable properties within walking reach. 479 of 535 property pages currently meet that bar. The remaining 56 stay in the site, reachable and linked, but out of the search index, because a page holding only a name, an address and a price does not deserve to compete for anybody's attention.
What we exclude before any of this starts
61 records from the source inventory did not reach the site at all:
- Private room or apartment listing: 55 records.
- Hostel with shared dormitories: 3 records.
- Outside greater london: 1 records.
- No geocode: 1 records.
- Temporarily closed: 1 records.
Private room and single-apartment listings are the largest group. They are real places to stay, but they are not properties a hotel comparison can describe honestly, and mixing them in would make every list on the site less useful.
What we will never do
- Write about staying somewhere we have not stayed.
- Publish an aggregate rating we invented by weighting somebody else's data.
- Fill a facility column so a comparison table looks complete.
- Use a review count or star rating we cannot attribute.
- Change a recommendation because of a commercial link.
How often this is checked
- Fast moving: rates, pet fees, parking charges, opening of facilities. Re-checked when we revisit a property.
- Slower: facilities, property names, classifications.
- Stable: postcode, coordinates, station distances. These change rarely, and when they do it is usually because a station opened.
